I have received a number of contacts asking if I myself / this site were the originator of a letter that it would appear has been sent to residents at numerous estates accross the country. While the letter is titled ‘CPM/RMG Uncovered!’ and makes reference to this site I state unequivically that this document did not originate from myself or anyone directly associated with the maintenance of this site.

Reading through the content, the document appears to mirror a number of issues that I/we have heard numerous times before but the fact that the sender does not feel able to identify themselves lends little in the way of credibility and probably does more harm than good.

I have stated on numerous occasions that I would like nothing more than for this site to be no longer required. This could happen one of two ways. Either CPM/RMG buck their ideas up and start providing, in the eyes of those whose estates they manage, value for money, or they go out of business (as seems to be the intention of the documents originator). I myself am unconcerned which. This site simply reports truthfully on the current and historic position, providing answers to a list of frequently asked questions. All subscribers to the site and most readers (including CPM) know me by name. I feel no need to hide behind anonymity.

If the content of the document is accurate I would urge its originator to identify themselves and provide, along with their statement, the supporting evidence. Without doing so it is unfortunately little more than that, a statement.

As I am not in a position to comment on the financial situation of CPM/RMG and because the document potentially contains defamatory material with no way of verifying its accuracy I am unwilling to reproduce its content here. If anyone from CPM would like or be prepared to make a statement I am happy to report on that.

Jim Devine MP has set up an All Party Parliamentary Group to explore the issues surrounding land and property management companies such as CPM Asset Management. Jim is appealing for homeonwers to send their views to the group secretary Gordon Banks MP on westminster[at]gordonbanksmp[dot]co[dot]uk

The group is due to publish its findings in the Spring of 2009 – so please contact them as quickly as possible with a brief explanation of the issues you are facing.

As well as emailing Gordon Banks Paula ask that people facing issues get in touch with their own MPs and request that they represent them and raise their issues at the All Party Group. It would appear thet some MPs have been ‘influenced’ by the Land and Property Management Companies and are actually defending their practices. This is a very real opportunity to make change people so get on it!

Back in May I received a letter from CPM’s lawyers threatening me with High Court and the enforced closure of the site. Their tactics were predictably heavy handed and bullying. I directly challenged their claims of defamation and several months of correspondence then ensued during which I let CPM and their lawyers paint themselves into a corner. This culminated in September when I offered CPM the opportunity to use the site as a conduit through which they could engage with the sites readers and address and resolve their various issues. This apparently did not appeal to CPM and the correspondence fell quiet. It is quite clear to me from their behaviour that they are more concerned with trying to cover up their horrendous service and its consequences by sweeping it under the carpet than they are in improving their service or addressing residents concerns. I have therefore taken the decision to publish the full string of correspondence.

I have used the comment funtion to post each part of the correspondance below and have manipulated the comment date to reflect the date that each piece of correspondance was sent/received. Apologies, this makes the page very long!

Langauge is subjective! As PC MacAnally once said to comedian Mark Thomas “One man’s s**t is another mans crap, is another mans poop!” So what constiutes a ‘connection’ for me may not be the same as what constitutes a ‘connection’ for you. It is almost certain that what constitutes a ‘connection’ for the representatives of CPM and PDC will be something altogether different again. Let me present the evidence and you can make up your own mind.

[Research data obtained through Companies House and FAME]

The current list of Directors for Property Debt Collection Limited shows a Mr G Tona as the sole Director. The Directors report states that the date of appointment of Mr Tona was 11/02/1993 which is also the date of Incorporation. Day 1 if you like. Previous appointments of Property Debt Collection include:
Mr R. V. Noble – Director. 11/02/1993 – 11/02/1993 (1 Day, however …)
Lundie Management Holdings Limited – Director. 24/02/1994 – 02/04/2003
Mr Noble is also a (previous) Director of Lundie Managment Holding. See below. (…so really 6 years!)

The report also lists Mr Tona as a Director of the inactive/dissolved company Property Debt Collection (Stevenage) Limited having been appointed on 10/10/1984. Though the company is dissolved Mr Tona’s appointment as a Director is listed as ‘current’ (I don’t fully understand this). Also listed as a ‘current’ Director of PDC (Stevenage) is Lundie Management Holdings Limited. Lundie Management Holdings dissolved 18/04/2006.

[Subjective as my opinion is, to me this constitutes a 'connection' between Mr Tona/Property Debt Collection, Mr Noble and Lundie Management Holdings Ltd]

The appointments report for Lundie Management Holdings includes:
Mr N. L. Wager – Director. 02/04/1992 – still current
Mr R. V. Noble – Director. 14/02/1996 – 22/08/2003
Hertford Company Secretaries – Company Secretary. 27/06/2000 – 17/02/2004

The Directors report for Mr N Wager and Mr R Noble share some telling similarities:
Hertford Company Secretaries – Now an Erinaceous Subsiduary
Vita Insurance Services – Now an Erinaceous Subsiduary
CPM (Scotland) – There’s those 3 letters again
CPM Bespoke Mortgages – and again!

Like I said, all completely subjective.
