Buckshaw Village Forum Censorship

Posted on 19. Nov, 2008 by admin in All posts

Following this email from a member of Buckshaw Village Residents Association I have removed the link from the ‘In the Same Boat’ listing. Why someone would want to censor open and honest discussion is anyones guess. My personal guesses would be having been threatened or having been paid off.

The owner of the Buckshaw Village forum has taken it upon himself to edit out any negative comments about CPM so your link to the CPM threads at Buckshawvillage.com no longer works.

I’m a memeber of the residents association and we are developing our own web site which will allow full, un-censored discussion of CPM.

I run a very small property management business in Bolton and have recently taken over from CPM on a site close to Buckshaw Village. After receiving all the accounts (very interesting reading) and statutory books from CPM for my site I decided to join the Buckshaw Village forum as I was interested to see what their accounts showed..
I was amazed to find it appears that they have charged the residents for landscaping; which should have been finished by the developer (running into £££££’s).

Within 10 minutes of joining the furum I was sent an email informing me that I was banned for life – with no reason!

A number of people who own high numbers of properties have asked me to look into running the Buckshaw Village management company but, surprise, the company has been set up differently! CPM own shares (instead of the company being limited by guarantee!)

Time for the residents to take control of the spending

      Hello….
Interested in reading your comments. I live on a development in Lancashire and I am apalled at the increase in fees which are being applied without any explanation. I have requested CPM hold a meeting for residents which they conveniently ignore. There customer contact process acknowledges receipt of emails within 5 days but I always fail to receive a reply from the estate manager or his boss. The annual accounts regularly do not balance with the budgets.and guess what the accounting service is supplied by a subsidiary. company. My concern is that admin fees are increasing without any accountability to the residentys which they serve. In my profesional opinion the back office service is extremely poor and what makes matters worse we are paying for it.
Maybe we should get together to discuss options because unless CPM get there act together they will need to be replaced by a more resident focused management company..

As an experienced Director of an RMC and successfully kicking CPM off our site back in 2006 due to the most appalling service ever, I too came across the Buckshaw Village Forum website.

I registered and posted a polite message on their forum addressed to the residents (users) kindly offering to advise to those suffering under the hands of CPM, to contact me privately.

Within minutes I received a very aggressive and harassing email from the administrator of the Buckshaw Village website informing me that my account has been banned together with my IP address and that my comments were unwelcome on their site.

I registered again a few days under a different name so that I could read what was being said by the Buckshaw residents in the CPM section on their forum only then to start receiving dozens of harassing and intimidating private messages from the administrator who was attempting to establish my identity and harass me just for being present on the site alone (I was not posting anything!)

Something very fishy is going on there in my opinion and my personal feeling is that the administrator is in bed with CPM in some way!

I totally agree with this comment, I have been forced off the website.
CPM are obviously VERY scared of the comments being made, in fact, today they have shut the website down for “server upgrades”…

If anyone who owns a property would like me to review their service charge and accounts for Buckshaw Village then please leave a response, I am not here to sell my services as a managing agent but to try and untangle the truth from the accounts, I find this facinating!
